амплитуда землетрясения (a quantitative measure of earthquake size that is independent of the place of observation. determined by taking the common logarithm (base 10) of the largest ground motion recorded on a seismogram during the arrival of a particular seismic wave type, and applying a standard correction for epicentral distance. commonly used magnitude scales include the Richter or local magnitude (ML), surface-wave magnitude (ms), body-wave magnitude (mb), and moment magnitude (mw). moment magnitude has the advantage of avoiding magnitude scale-saturation, which is common with other magnitude scales; качественная мера силы, масштаба и распределения сотрясений грунта в мейзосейсмической зоне.
