Sodai-kai
relig. 'Representatives Association'. The postwar voluntary committees which organise festivals etc. relating to the local shrine. They usually consist of older men prominent in the community (e.g. representing neighbourhoods) and will generally include the shrine priest. Their leader is the sodai-cho.
