Granville Island was a man made Island built on top of a sandbar.... which was formed by a combination of sediment settling as the water from False Creek met the ocean waters and the backwash from the tides. Those two factors haven't changed..... so where do they think that sand and sediment is going now.... and where do they think the water goes when the backwash pressure from high tides take effect?
