Подскажите, пожалуйста, что это может быть:

Are you bondable

or

Are you eligible to be bonded?

Встречается в объявлениях о найме на работу, в анкетах, в Канаде. Ни один известный словарь ответа не дает.

Нет, про замужество/супружество маловероятно, это все в объявлениях про работу. Вот пример объявления:

Мне нужно в анкете заполнить, там вопрос после настоящего места работы, контакных телефонов работодателя и т.д. "Are you eligible to be bondable"
Местные жители тоже ничего конкретного не объясняют.

Кажется, уже тепло, по крайней мере, я такое объяснение от местных жителей встречала :)
Но все-равно остается вторая фраза, которую я в предыдущем посте неправильно написала, сорри: Are you eligible to be bonded.

ну вроде приблизительно одинаково они значат "eligible to be bonded" соответствуешь ли требованиям, предъявляемым к лицам, в отношении которых типа подобную страховку покупают.

С бондами, облигациями и т.д. это ничего родственного не имеет, увы, никак не вяжется с устройством на работу :(

To 2p: Это я про объяснение про криминал рекорды. Оно по смыслу подходит, тем более, эта фраза встречается в разделе security в объявлениях о работе

юристов надо спросить. Так здесь не об облигациях. Это типа гарантийного письма или страховки. Кстати, у банков есть BBB (Banker's Blanket Bond) - именно страховка (типа "договор комплексного банковского страхования)

Ура!!! Случайно вчера познакомилась с госслужащей, которая и ответила на мой вопрос. Делюсь информацией, вот ее ответ:

To be bondable would mean that an employer is able to ensure you against theift. For example if you are required to carry cash as part of your job and you got robbed the employer would be insured and would be able to recover the losses. Or if as part of your job you had to entre other peoples homes and they reported that something went missing, the employers insurance would be able to cover their loss. In order to be bonded you cannot have any criminal convictions in your past. You should answer "yes" to are you able to be bonded.
