Subject: make a coffee BrE как сказать "сделать кофе" с фразовым глаголом вместо "make"? что-то с "up", "out", "over" или "off" и начинается на "f", "p", "s" или "t". считается разговорным выражением в BrE, встречается в таблоидах, но никто не может его вспомнить:)

еще про чай я слышала brew up не знаю, насколько это применимо к кофе лингво предлагает также употреблять brew up про алкогольные напитки |
| если приготовление кофе приравнять по сложности к алхимическому зелью, то можно и make up, конечно |

brew me a cuppa [= cup of] Обычно о чае :-) Но tea - понятие всеобъемлющее в Великобритании. :-) Вот еще северяне у нас радуют -- Мash some tea for me, will/would'ya? |

| да, по моему это и было "perk up", но англичане почему-то сами же и понимают его только в значении "cheer up". спасибо всем за версии! |

| Brits do not like percolators ... :-) It's mostly (depending on social standing) instant or American (drip coffee-maker) or cafetiere ("French press" - used to be in the US) or proper espresso/cappuccino |

| Или к serve еще надо прибавить up? |
| не, просто serve, но это именно подать, причем, видимо, со всеми причитающимися манерами |
