Вряд ли. А какой у вас контекст?

я считаю, что так и будет дословно ransom for the bride, а вот что любопытного я нашла:
ransom for the bride

My friend Ayamas got wedded last weekend. Being one of his buddies (and his unofficial photographer), I kinda had to tag along for the entire event. And of course, being part of the entourage for the 'door ramming' event as well.

'Door ramming' event: A Chinese tradition where the bride was allegorically held ransom by a bunch of her girl cronies, and the groom (together with his phalanx of guy cronies) are required to go through a series of debilitating (often humiliating) stunt/request/task, before he is allowed to pick up the bride. I've accounted a detailed 'door ramming' event in this entry here.
