The slitting line has the capacity of operating in any of the three modes of operation: full loop, pull through and slitter assist.

Технико-коммерческое предложение на линию продольной резки металла (slitting line) (если что, это такая линия, которая разрезает большой рулон на несколько полос, каждый из которых сматывается в узенький рулончик). Дальше эти режимы никак не расшифровываются. Может, кто-нибудь представляет, что за режимы такие?
мой вариант (курам на смех): полная петля, протягивание и полуавтоматическая (????) резка

full loop очевидно,перемотка материала сначала в одну сторону, потом обратно на мастер-рулон
pull through обычная перемотка без реза, например, для изменения направления намотки в рулоне.
slitter assist резка мастер-рулона на более мелкие рулончики

2 Эскимо: огромное спасибо за помощь! но по контексту было очевидно, что все три режима всё-таки относятся непосредственно к РЕЗКЕ (а не просто к перемотке).

Вот выдержки из предоставленного им описания:
FULL LOOP MODE:
The full loop mode is the preferred mode of operation for most slitting lines.
In the full loop mode, both the slitter drive and recoiler drives are in operation. The slitter drive serves to pull the material from the uncoiler and drive it through the slitter knives. The slit strands fall freely into a looping pit. The recoiler drive serves only to rewind the
slit strands on to the drum. The necessary tension to rewind is generated by a tension unit located before the recoiler.
The depth of the loop between the slitter and recoiler is either monitored by a loop sensor or by the operator.
This mode of operation generally provides the best slit edges and the better (straighter) wound coils. This mode generally does not induce camber to the slit strands.

PULL THROUGH MODE:
This is the most basic mode of operation and most of the early slitting lines were designed this way.
In the pull through mode, the recoiler drive motor is the only motor in operation. The slitter drive motor is either idle or turning in low power.
The slit strands are pulled through the slitter knives by the recoiler. All slit strands are tight until the material gauge difference starts to influence the operation.

SLITTER ASSIST MODE:
This mode of operation is generally required for the heavy gauges as the heavy gauge strands do not loop well. The strands are tight when run in this mode.
This mode is essentially the same as the pull through mode in as much as the slit strands are tight between the slitter head and the recoiler. The slitter drive runs in simultaneously under torque control following the recoiler drive.

Так что я перевела режимы ледующим образом (приводя разъяснения в скобках):
FULL LOOP - полная петля (как привод режущего устройства, так и привод намотчика работают самостоятельно и независимо)
PULL-THROUGH - протягивание (работает только привод намотчика; полоса протягивается через блок резки)
SLITTER ASSIST - принудительная резка (привод намотчика работает самостоятельно, а приводу режущего устройства сообщается соответствующий крутящий момент).

перевод может быть корявым и не точным; но по крайней мере, теперь мы знаем, о чём шла речь. Если Вам когда-нибудь попадётся такая терминология (и вы забредёте на эту ветку), подумайте - может, Вам в голову придут вариаты получше.
