Еще вариант - convoluted plot.
Хотя "закрученный" - разговорное слово, имхо, twist, twisted plot - самое оно и используется очень часто.

Исправление: convoluted все-таки, скорее, сложный, разветвленный, запутанный и т.д., а не "закрученный". Сорри. :-)
