clearing request activity

Pls help with the term clearing in this context

Siebel automatically takes you to the Activity view where a new clearing request activity has been already created/
Enter the relevant date (name, adresss and account affiliation) into the form that opens and submit the form to the internal clearing department of BI.

The term Account affiliation is under the big question too!!
