Hi everyone! I understand the meaning of "I trust this finds you well." in English, but can't translate it into Russian. I need to write an official letter to a VIP and it has to sound very Russian. Pls help me out.

However, in Russian interpretation it sounds to me as if the person to whom you address had been unwell for some time :-) or as if he or she is your relative...

IMVHO:
It would be better to avoid such a phase in the beginning of the letter. Instead, you may "soften" the dry business wording in the end with something like:

Благодарим за плодотворное сотрудничество и надеемся на дальнейшее развитие взаимовыгодных партнёрских отношений между нашими компаниями!

NB Nephew's translation cuts closer to the bone, but is a bit stiff and old-fashioned (the fact nephew is undoubtedly aware of, hence the charming smile at the end). My rendering is less so, yet I wouldn't use either of the two versions in an official letter for they both denote a certain degree of familiarity with the addressee. I'd probably just skip it altogether.

Я что-то не понимаю, в чем проблема? :-) Если нужно написать (а не перевести) официальное письмо, может быть, стоит постараться избежать расшаркиваний и преступить сразу к делу. Думаю, VIP оценит Ваше бережное отношение к тому факту, что у него в сутках только 24 часа. :-))

Спасибо всем за вклад. Irisha, Вы правильно подметили про написать/перевести. Я переводил это официальное письмо, и поэтому оно должно было быть близко к оригинальной версии на англ.яз. Я просто не знаю, могу ли я просто выбросить эту фразу "I trust this letter finds you well and that XYZ company is having a good and prosperous year" (обе версии могут быть сверены на соответсвие).
