Subject: по плечу Помогите пожалуйста перевести фразу "по плечу". Контекст следующий: Єто сложный и творческий процесс, поэтому эта задача по плечу лишь истинным любителям и профессионалам своего дела.Я перевела как: This is a difficult and creative process, that’s why this task takes true amateurs and professionals to do this. Верно ли это? Спасибо |
я бы написал чуть проще: ...task... is only up to true professionals... |
Спасибо))) |
а любители здесь отнюдь не amateurs (которые противопоставляются профессионалам), а lovers of... или аналогичное |
imho This is a complex matter that demands a creative approach: only the real enthusiasts and true professionals are able to deal with it. |
Wass, I don't get it... "[the]task... is up to smb." - ?? surely smb. is up to [the] task... Or am I confusing something here? |

Если хотите "покрасивше" выразиться, то можно использовать to be equal to the task of .... или to raise to the challenge of... |

maybe "RISE to the challenge"? —Usage note Raise and rise are similar in form and meaning but different in grammatical use. Raise is the causative of rise; to raise something is to cause it to rise. Raise is almost always used transitively. Its forms are regular: Raise the window. The flag had been raised before we arrived. Raise in the intransitive sense “to rise up, arise” is nonstandard: Dough raises better when the temperature is warm. Rise is almost exclusively intransitive in its standard uses. Its forms are irregular: My husband usually rises before seven. The earliest I have ever risen is eight. The sun rose in a cloudless sky. The dough is rising now. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=raise&r=66 |
