The world toe wrestling championships were held in England recently, the competition taking place with great “gustoe”.
Each tie is the best of three legs taking place at the toedium and the sexes are strictly segregated to stop any “mixamytoesis”.
Ingrowns, corns and bunions bash it out as ‘Nasty Nash’ from Stoke on Trent and the ‘Toeminator’ from Staffordshire take to the ‘toedium’.
Competitors interlock their big toes on the “toesrack” all in the name of charity, with the heel of each competitor in their own section. Each player must keep his or her non-wrestling foot off the ground, but some part of their bottom on the ground.
Players try to force their opponent’s foot over and along making it touch the footrest of the toesrack, much the same as arm wrestling. The winning manoeuvre is known as a “toedown”.
And the “Toeminator” reigns supreme yet again, in a controversial ‘toedown’.
In the women’s division, the ‘Toeminator’s’ wife went toe to toe with her sister… and nailed her.
All proceeds from the Toe Wrestling Championships went the Wish Upon a Star Foundation which grants wishes and dream holidays to kids with terminal illness.

1. gustoe = gusto + toe (see Multitran for both)

2. Каждый поединок состоит из трех этапов (legs; тут игра слов на двух занчениях слова "лег"), из трех попыток. Победитель - победивший в двух.

3. Участники сцепляются большими пальцами и пытаются пригнуть ногу противника так, чтобы он коснулся..... (что тут непонятного? сказано же - как в arm wrestling)

4. Фантазируйте.
