Subject: Difference between -focused, -oriented, -centered? Does anybody know the difference or shades in meaning in composite words using -focused, -oriented, -centered? For example, user-oriented or user-focused, or user-centered?As far as I understand in Russian they can be translated like "ориентированный на". But what i am interested is the English meaning of these words. Are these synonyms or not? And can they be interchanged? Thanks to all |
in general meaning they could be interchanged, but I guess "user-focused" and "user-centered" look a bit closer to each other, than "user-oriented". Focused and centered= concentrated on, so there is nobody but the user. Oriented... the user in this case could be just taken into consideration or kept in mind. IMHO. |
