Посмотрите, пожалуйста, несколько предложений из искусствоведческой статьи – я не уверена, что правильно подобрала английские слова.

1. Книга стихов и свет – два символа, сливающиеся в пространстве картины в единый символ поэтического про-свещения. Этот внутренний свет есть свет улыбающихся уст и глаз.

The book of verses and light are two symbols interflowing into the single token of poetic en-lightment in the field of the picture. This internal light is the one of smiling lips and eyes.

В пространстве картины – in the area, field, space of the picture?

2. Если зритель будет идти вдоль холста, он все время, в любой точке своего положения остается под взглядом чарующей женщины. Это придает особую ауру картине, и, несомненно, является демонстрацией мастерства исполнения.

Going along the canvas the spectator always feels the fascinating woman`s gaze following him in any point of his position. It gives to the picture some peculiar aura and undoubtedly demonstrates mastery of artistic performance.

ИМХО пространство картины - это пространство картины, и только. В этом пространстве существуют, помимо прочего, свет и книга стихов.

демонстрировать мастерство исполнения - exhibit artistic excellence, imho.
над остальным еще подумаю, если будет время.
