i have only heard - slip of the tounge and it just means to say something accidentally slip of the foot might mean something but i dont know it. where did you get his from? |

slip of the pen тоже конечно встречается. а что касается сабжа.. Есть ведь такие аспекты жизнедеятельности человека как то: скалолазание, канатоходство, хождение по минному полю, футбол (профессиональный), танцы (бывают ситуации) и так далее..:) |

Контекстом явл не проход по минному полю, а кошмарные пропасти, поэтому вариант Tracy подходит. Спасибо всем огромное за участие, а особенно Tracy. |

to gogolesque: Sorry, I left yesterday and did not see your question. Here is the answer: By the way, once I had a "collision" with a Russian editor in one well-known translation agency. I brought to them my test translation (it was Russian into English). The text dealth with renting a "трехкомнатная квартира, общей площадью... жилой площадью... с лождией..." and there were also references to the Civil Code, the Housing Code, etc. I translated all this and then gave the text to my editor (native English speaker, very experienced). To cut the long story shot, the Russian editor changed the articles, some grammar, and strongly objected againt the word [property] "title" , etc. :-) |

Кэт most russians have no place editing something which is in english. dont be upset ps. i flew into a rage the day i translated something for someone here at the bank and then after he had sent it saw that he changed part of my translation because he is used to seeing it written another way even thought the way he wrote is COMPLETELY WRONG! i wanted blood! :) |
