Имхо: tee - это та самая "пимпочка" с которой начинается игра в гольфе. Далее логика мне посказывет, что на поле для гольфа может играть несколько человек (групп), но начинают игру они в разное время. Я бы предположила, что tee-time - это начало партии в гольфе.
