'were coming his way' (informal, figurative) = 'would soon be available to him', ie he would soon receive them/obtain them. 'his way' here means 'in his direction'/'towards him'.

'to come s.o.'s way' has the sense of 'to visit s.o.' or 'to visit the area/location in which s.o. lives', but it's often used figuratively, as in eg:

* 'When I die, my house and all of my savings will be coming your way'.

* 'Bad luck always seems to come my way whenever I go on holiday'.
