'up' here is linked to 'to write' = 'to write (sth) up'. It's not linked to 'on' and isn't a mis-spelling of 'upon'. 'to write (sth) up' is just informal English for 'to write (sth)', where 'sth' = 'the relevant information/details'. Strangely, it means the same as 'to write (sth) down'. They both mean simply 'to write (sth)', so the 'up' can be ignored here. 'on your letterhead' isn't very good English; it should really be 'on letterheaded paper', ie 'on a sheet of paper with your organisation's letterhead on it'. So the asker's understanding of the sense is correct. |
