add нормально ... или pour sizzling hot oil

add +1

or

'pour in (the) sizzling hot oil'

or

'pour (the) sizzling hot oil over (the carrots?)'.

'Put' by itself isn't right, as the reader will immediately think: "Put the hot oil where...?"

///sizzling hot oil///

It seems the second word is unnecessary.

And what about "shimmering"?

* 'shimmering' usually means 'glistening slightly', so it refers to the appearance of sth -- for example, the appearance of light reflected on water.

* 'sizzling' usually refers to the hissing sound that small bubbles in boiling/very hot liquid make -- so imho it's more appropriate here.

The 'hot' in 'sizzling hot' may be superfluous in theory -- but 'sizzling hot' is a very commonly-used expression.
