Not only did this computerized fare dissemination system enable the defendants to negotiate higher fares, it importantly enabled them to verify that such fares would stick, and to signal retaliatory measures against any airline that did not go along with specific fares for specific routes.

Вопрос в том, как правильно назвать всё это по-русски. Понятно, что footnote не является сноской в обычном бумажном документе: это некий комментарий к записи в базе данных... Но, может быть, в этой области существует устоявшаяся терминология?

В том и дело, что не очень-то "просто": как переведем proposals to change fares through these footnote designators with First and Last Ticket Dates? У меня получается примерно так: "предложения изменить тарифы, пользуясь (чем именно???????) с датами начала и окончания действия тарифа".

По-моему, речь не идет о том, что информация о периоде действия тарифа загоняется в буквенно-цифровой идентификатор сноски/комментария/примечания. Эта информация загоняется в сноску. Или как там оно называется (собственно, в этом и весь вопрос).
