The Sand Ram is to be visually inspected for excessive wear and malfunctioning parts on an “as used basis”.
If the sand rams are not in adequate operating condition, then the Quality Assurance Technicians must have them repaired or clean them before they can be used in service.
If a repair or cleaning cannot be performed immediately, the Q.A. Supervisor should be informed and the sand ram should be identified as not being functional.
If the test results suggest there may be a problem with a sand ram, then it should not be used and the testing should be repeated.
