Всем привет, пытаюсь прочесть The Lord of the Rings и встретилось мне в тексте вот что: Went wide about westward - как это правильно перевести??? Это - вокруг? или это - по? Go wide - идти широким шагом + about - приблизительно + westward - в западном направлении.

Мне кажется, они скорее шли как бы широким фронтом, т.е. чтобы не пропустить (?).

Да шли широким фронтом, но вот какого беса сюда about прилепили? Может ли это значить что они пытались описать круг в восточном направлении чтобы зайти сзади
