A 'slam' is also the noun which describes this action, as well as the onomatopoeic word for it (SLAM!). So presumably a 'big slam' just means a very forceful slam, or the loud sound created by this.

У Вас мало контекста, Синед. Из того, что есть, если коротко, - это либо "БАМ!" (громкий звук броска), либо сам сильный бросок (бросок прогибом и пр.). Это Джон и пытался Вам сказать.
