Don't use 'application', for the reason Susan gives -- it'll be confused with app = application = application software/program (приложение). I would leave out 'users' and put 'mobile phone coverage'. 'Mobile phone' here includes mobile phones, smartphones and tablets. |
///'Mobile phone' here includes mobile phones, smartphones and tablets. /// Says who? What about mobile devices? |

I thought of that. 'Mobile device coverage' is a more technical term as used by telephone engineers etc; 'mobile phone coverage' is the term used by everyone else. I sensed from what the asker said that her translation, rather than being a technical (telecommunications) one, was a more general one about social networking etc, but if it is indeed a telecoms translation, 'device' is probably better. It depends on how technical a translation it is. |

*** Says who? *** Everyone other than telecoms engineers. 99% of people talk about 'mobile phone masts', for example -- not 'mobile device masts'. There are also other technical terms for a mobile phone mast which are used by engineers, but not by the general public. It all depends on who's talking. |

I can only speak for the UK, by the way. When mobile phones first came out (before smartphones arrived), Americans tended to call them 'cellphones'. So whether they use the term 'mobile phone coverage' or a slightly different term ('cellphone coverage'?), I've no idea. |
I get that part. What I do not get is when tablets became "phones". warning: I am way behind of technology and never owned any mobile phone. |
А может outreach подойдет? Например mobile device user outreach |

Amor: It's because smartphones and tablets are essentially just a development of the original mobile phones. A smartphone is a mobile phone which can do additional things such as access the web, and a tablet is just a smartphone with a large screen. So, because the basic technology's the same, they all use the same mobile phone signals and masts. You can sometimes use a smartphone/tablet without needing a mobile signal -- by using a so-called wi-fi signal -- but that's another story. |

I'm still waiting to hear from foxline what exactly is meant by 'охват пользователей мобильных устройств' rather than just 'охват мобильных устройств'.... |

Thanks, Alk -- very interesting. It looks as though I've been caught out by a 'red herring' (and I've no idea why we say that in English). I wondered what 'пользователей' was doing there. In that case I agree with 'reach' as in 'audience reach'. stachel's version seems best to me -- unless I've misunderstood it again! |

Reach не пойдет, т.к. Target/cover. |

"when tablets became "phones". - just the moment u insert a SIM-card in it or install an app. which eneables u to make a PHONE call. |

Mobile users engagement |
targeting |

crockodile, можно и так, конечно, но я имел в виду то, что не вполне точно переводится на русский термином "вовлечённость": user engagement refers to how frequently and how long a user interacts with your website, app, or other product. |
