Subject: will be sequenced in with TYPE 3 tech.
Уважаемые коллеги, речь идет о номерах деталей для тракторов

SORT SEQUENCINGIn 1992, files of all records utilizing "Part Number" was organized with all TYPE 1 formats first, followed by TYPE 2, and TYPE 3.

TYPE 4 numbers *will be sequenced in with TYPE 3*.

Sorting sequences may be defined by labeling segments of the part number as A, B, or C.
Traditionally, the sorting sequence for TYPE 2 numbers has been nonstandard for Engineering and Parts (BAC) and Manufacturing, Materials, and Accounting (CBA).Existing practices of using "CBA" or "BAC" sorts for TYPE 2 numbers are considered acceptable variances from standard.
The acceptable sorting sequences will be uniform within any centralized data processing system generally following traditional practices. In general, sort sequences for TYPE 2 numbers will continue unchanged until their volume is greatly reduced, or until the cost of nonstandard sorting dictates use of the standard sort sequence.Nonstandard sorting will not be utilized for TYPE 3 or TYPE 4 numbers.

It's probably referring to the sorting of records (in this case, part numbers) in a database -- either in alphabetical sort (A,B,C,....) or reverse alphabetical sort (Z,Y,X,....) or in some other order.

'Sort sequence' just means the sort order, ie which records (part numbers) in the database shall come first/next/last.

'TYPE 4 numbers will be sequenced in with TYPE 3' probably means that the two sets of numbers in Types 3 and 4 will be merged before being sorted, and will then be sorted as a single group.

PS: Also line 1 should read 'files of all records .... WERE organized', of course.
