Subject: Английская версия сайта inet. Запустили английскую версию сайта - http://webdevexp.net/eng/. Помогите, пожалуйста, оценить перевод и выявить ошибки, если таковые имеются. Спасибо!

1. Английской версии сайта нет. Долго грузиццо и выкидывает на русскую. 2. вебдевексп - ну и названьице вы себе выбрали) запсибкомбанк и то получше. |

| Кстати, HREKOV MAKSIM это Греков или Хреков? Если Хреков, то надо KHREKOV. Если это на киевский манер, тогда и Владимир надо писать VOLODYMYR. |

*ну вот, хоть одну ошибку человеку нашли - и исправили!!* да, muzugu у нас добрый, белый и человечный. вот только при данном уровне текста исправление фамилии и большой буквы на маленькую - ну явно не поможет... автор, по доброте душевной советую. если вы знаете, что ваш сайт будут люди читать - не ловите халявы... вот даже завтра, когда все а не будут люди читать - так и базарить не об чем... |

| As Petrelnik says, the 'English' button at the bottom doesn't work. Even when the website address includes /en/ (presumably for 'English'), the text is all in Russian. |

works fine for me. if you add 'eng' (not 'en') to the URL, you'll make it to the EN version. however, the content is so clumsy you'd better avoid looking at it:) > А между тем в Харькове тоже имеются хорошие переводчики |

Correction: /eng/. Note 1: The English version only appeared after I'd clicked on your hyperlink four times. The first three times, the text was all in Russian. Note 2: I've only checked this for errors in the English; I didn't have time to check the quality of the translation from Russian. ENGLISH LANGUAGE ERRORS: Menu: Page: * Our designers thought through = Our designers think through. * Landing Page = landing page. * OUR WORKS = WHAT WE DO or OUR SPECIALITIES. * able to adapt responsible = able to adapt responsibility. * SAKHAROV ALEKSEY and other names -- In English we normally put the first name (имя) first and the surname (фамилия) last. * WE ...... OUR CLIENTS = US ...... OUR CLIENTS. * SUMSKAYA STR. = SUMSKAYA ST. * complexity in short time [bottom line] = complexity in a short time. I hope this helps. |

eprivalov: As the others have said, you need to hire a proper translator in Russia/Russian-speaking Ukraine in future. Note also muzungu's comments about transliterating Russian/Ukrainian names into English. Also the ......exp in 'Webdevexp' sounds clumsy in English. Go for Webdev(something else -- but short and easily pronounceable) or choose a completely new name. Don't use 'Webdev', 'Webdevex' or 'Webdevel' as they're already in use. |

eprivalov: Ignore my second paragraph (above) as I see that you've already invested money in the domain name etc. But if you ever decide to change your business name in future, note my comments. I see that you've already started making corrections to the English on your website. I can do a final check later, if you want me to. Just ask. |

| No, I'm not an angel. I started off assuming eprivalov was a professional translator and that there would be only 3 or 4 errors in the text, and found there were more like 30. And he doesn't appear to be a translator -- so I shall be telling him (again) to hire a professional translator in future.... |

If you want the English part of it to look professional and attract English-speaking customers, you need to hire a Russian-English translator rather than attempting it yourself. Try one of the other translators on this page or go to proz.com. Good luck with your business. |
| Топик-стартер, если нужен хороший местный вам переводчик - раз я уж обещала - я рыбу не дам (чтоб, чуть что, не я крайней вышла)) - я дам удочку. введите в строку поиска по форуму слово "Харьков" - первая ссылка будет на вашу же тему, а по второй - смотрите автора поста. мыло у него в профиле. тока денег не жалейте - он хороший и востребованный переводчик... так что дальше сами договаривайтесь... |

eprivalov: Take натрикс's advice. I've checked only the English language on part of your website because I had some free time, but there were lots of errors in it. That took me two hours. You still have some errors in it. I didn't have time to check that the TRANSLATION from Russian into English was also accurate. You need a good, local (to you) translator. He/she will give you an accurate translation and will ensure that anything you add to it in future (in English) is understandable to an English speaker. John Stephenson |

а мне не жалко. пусть нейтив-спикер коллегам переводчикам помогает. а делать на форуме переводчиков бесплатно (!) работу для "заказчика" - т.е. то, за твой твой товарищ по цеху (любой) потенциально может снять денег - это все равно как если бы я начала печь пирожки и под видом продажи их у дверей банка попутно выдавала бы беспроцентные ссуды. а банк, узнав об этом, стал бы раздавать бесплатные пирожки, чтоб мне назло... ну, я так щетаю... |

I'm happy to help other translators, and I'm not looking for work for myself (or other translators here in Britain), as a) it's a Russian website, not a British one, and b) I'm semi-retired, so have already 'made my money'. |
