художественный перевод как понятие

Художественный перевод - неужели literary translation? Что-то меня смущает в таком переводе. По форуму порыскала, не нашла. Если где-то есть, киньте ссылку плиз.
Контекст любой, типа: Иван Иваныч занимается худ. переводом (-ами) и т.п.

Поняла, что меня смутно терзало: фонетическая близость literal и literary

у нас в школе такой предмет назывался "artistic translation"

yep.. it was a special school for languages, you are right. English and French :)

was is it an imersion school or a regular school which just emphasizes languages? immersion schools i know of, the other - never heard of

um.. no it wasn't an immersion school. It was a regular school which emphasised languages and humanities. And that's why I am absolutely hopeless at sciences.. :)
The school was a kind of experiment... we started learning English at 5 and french at 11. There was an option to choose german, but i preferred french and i don't regret a bit.
