Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995
This Driver Licence Receipt authorises you to drive or learn to drive the class/es of motor vehicle stated below until such time as your new driver licence is issued. You should keep your Driver Licence Receipt with you when driving and show it to any police officer or transport inspector who asks you to do so. Your Driver Licence Receipt and new driver licence will be subject to the conditions (if any) shown as a condition code. A full description of the licence classes and condition codes is included in the attached notice. You must comply with any conditions stated on your Driver Licence Receipt and your driver licence.
If you have been granted a recreational marine driver licence (RMDL) or personal watercraft licence (PWCL), your Driver Licence Receipt and driver licence will display the code RMDL or PWCL. You must comply with any conditions imposed on your RMDL or PWCL imposed under the Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Act 1994. If your RMDL or PWCL is subject to prescribed conditions of use, the marine licence condition code 'Y' will be included.
You must not drive if your driver licence (including your Driver Licence Receipt) is cancelled, expired or suspended for any reason. For example - court disqualification, licence suspension for demerit points or unpaidfines.
Your new driver licence will be sent to your mailing address within 14 days. Please contact the Department of Transport and Main Roads (the department) on 13 23 80 if you have not received your new driver licence by 21/08/2014. Once you receive your new driver licence, you must promptly destroy this Driver Licence Receipt and any superseded driver licence or marine licence indicator card.
