A Cathelco system normally has two anodes, one to prevent corrosion in the pipe work (TC - Trap Corrosion) and one to prevent marine growth in the pipe work (MG - Marine Growth). MG anodes are made from copper. Depending on the metal type used on the raw water pipe work the TC anode can be either aluminium (for predominately steel pipes) or cast iron (FE) for copper, nickel or aluminium brass pipes.
