Contract Postaward Phase

The Postaward Phase consists of contract administration, and contract closeout or termination. Contract administration can be simple or complex depending on the size and complexity of the contract. Contract administration entails monitoring the contract and all the activities that take place over the life of the contract. Contract Administration procedures are important so that the parties know what is expected of them at all times; to facilitate communication inside and outside the contract team; to avoid unpleasant surprises in the requirements, costs or schedule; and to solve problems quickly if they do occur. Contract Closeout is verifying that all the deliverables, terms and conditions of the contract have been met, by both parties; and that any modifications to the contract are resolved to the satisfaction of both parties.
