The system is supplied with a 360° mini prism.
This prism can be used to position and orientate the scanner when the instrument is deployed on a boom or tripod.
The prism has a 5/8” thread at one end and an M6 x 1 thread on the other end.
These match with a 5/8” thread on the collar of the probe and a M6 thread on the end of the horizontal housing.
A surveyor can target the prism on the VS150 to establish the position of the unit.
A second prism may be attached to the far end of the deployment boom.
**Shooting to both prisms will then give the azimuth of the deployment.
