Такое вот предложение запутанное, но на самом деле мне плохо понятны три момента:
1. Как понимать здесь выражение modification application - если бы между словами стояло of, мне было бы понятнее - опечатка? (два раза повторенная, однако).
2. Почему "are located" (относится же к each underlying game)?
3. Как назвать по-русски "underlying game" - исходная игра?

Отрывок из экспертного заключения на патентную спецификацию, но текста самого патента у меня нет, не могу посмотреть контекст изобретения.
