An assembly of devices designed to provide gravity-compensating therapy for a patient who has restricted or has lost motor function of the arm(s) caused by cerebral, neurogenic, spinal, muscular or bone-related disorders. It consists of a boom with an arm supporting sling, a weight compensating mechanism, an arm movement feedback mechanism, and training software. It is used for outpatient clinics or home settings. It supports functional movement for the impaired arm by partially compensating the weight of the arm allowing the patient to activate the remaining movement ability and repetitively retrain to improve mobility, range of motion and coordinated arm movements.
