извините, что не в кассу. но нигде не смогла найти нужного ответа. может из вас кто сталкивался и знает. я с мамой навещала сестру. сестра provided us with accomodation and food. mum and myself payed for our tickets. заполняю анкетy на визу v UK и вопрос: 'in the last two years has the relative that you are staying with sponsored anyone else's visit?' отвечать нет? или 'да' и сказать, что сестра provided my mother with accomodation food and payed for her food expences? являлось ли это спонсорством? что такое sponsor в понимании англичан?

места если хватает - то и пишите, как было. пусть читают и сами решают, спонсор это, или не спонсор... ваше дело - правду сказать...и paid правильно написать...

My sister sent to me an invitation letter and this:
-evidence of your own immigration status in the United Kingdom;

''a letter of sponsorship explaining your relationship to the person who is applying, the purpose of the visit and where your general visitor will stay.'' it was not a letter of sponsorship? but I dont understand a difference between a letter of sponsorship and invitation letter....But in her invitation letter my sister wrote about relationship, how long I will stay, purpose of the visit.

''If you will provide financial support and accommodation for your general visitor and/or pay for his/her travel to the United Kingdom, you should send us the following as evidence that you are able to do so:
copies of your bank or building society statements and payslips for the last six months; or
a copy of your savings account book.''
My sister sent her payslips and savings book. but she didnt pay for my mother's and my flight. we paid ourselves.

здесь написано, что A family visitor is a type of 'general visitor', так что, видимо, все, что относится к sponsoring a general visitor, относится и к family visitor...
В общем, раз она что-то отсылала, я бы сказал, что на вопрос в анкете отвечать надо "да"...

sponsoring с точки зрения иммиграционных властей - это прежде всего visa support, т.е. то, что у нас называется "приглашение"

если сестра делала тогда приглашение и вам, и маме, то ответ - "да"
