Subject: swipe technology I need to pick your brains, guys.Are there established Russian equivalents for the phrases "swipe card", "swipe technology", "to swipe a card"? The text is about using a credit/debit card at the ATM. Instead of "swallowing" your card, the machine just needs you to drag it through the slot (swipe) that reads the information encoded in the magnetic strip on your card. Will appreciate your input a lot. |
| По-моему, это все равно называется "считывание информации с магнитной карты". Иногда подчеркивают, что требуется ручная протяжка карты через специальную прорезь. |
| Это точно. Главное, что бы магнитная дорожка была. А считывающая головка её сама оближет или рукой карту двигать надо, мы, русские люди, на этом не заостряемся. :)) |
