Subject: Premises gen.
Good afternoon!

I still can't make sure how I can use the word "premises" in this context: "This (or these-???) dwelling premises is (or are - ???) intended for lower-rank employees. The Internet gives both variants, and the spell-checker is permanently shocked at the singular form of the verb...

Thanks a lot for any advice!

According to Longman:
Premises - plural if we are talking about buildings or land the company uses. Therefore: these premises are.
It can be singular (premiss), but then it means - a statement or idea that you accept as true and use as a base for developing other ideas [посылка (логическая);суждение, на котором основывается заключение, вывод]
