вообще-то я про русский вариант...

crack - здесь в значении "разность" между суммарной ценой получаемого бензина (и др. продуктов) и добываемой нефти-сырца.
simple product! - вспоминается "Евгений Онегин" - ... не нужно
золото ему, когда "простой продукт" имеет". Наверно, в экономике сохранился такой термин?!
И эта разность (трещина) увеличивается.
