Subject: silver bullet К вопросу о наших баранах - о пополнении м-трана. Хотелось бы обсудить-таки варианты перевода метафорического использования этого выражения ("простое и надежное решение проблемы", "панацея от всех бед", "универсальное средство")
silver bullet (тж. magic bullet - в компьютерах, медицине).

В инете наиболее удобным мне показался "закавыченный" перевод с пояснением, напр.
Серебряная пуля или горькая пилюля?
Так можно ли сказать, что гибкие методологии - это пресловутая серебряная пуля, универсальное средство и панацея от всех бед?
Но обычно переводчики не сильно заботятся о разнице узуса этих выражений в русском и английском - "серебряная пуля" - и все (или я безнадежно отстал и это значение уже нашло путь в .
Напр."Как успешно руководить проектами. Серебряная пуля."
ПРЕДЛОЖЕНИЕ (подлежит обсуждению :)
1) включить в Мтран прямое значение "серебряная пуля" с пояснением, че за пуля такая.
2) добавить метафорическое значение. варианты "панацея", "универсальное средство", "простое и надежно (как хозяйственное мыло (с)) решение проблемы" - не самые удачные, но ... пока все, что есть
