Charter vs. Regulations vs. Statute gen.

Друзья, речь идет об Уставе Полиции, каким из слов Charter/Regulations/Statute перевести слово Устав? А может что-либо другое?

В военном деле уставы обычно называются Regulations, так что здесь я бы предполагал то же самое...

I think "charter" or "statute" will be an appropriate choice. As for "regulations", it sounds informal to me. I guess you were referring to the Russian Police and I am wondering whether there is a translation of the word "устав" that has been used by Russian officials.

liliyarobinson, thank you for your response. As for the translation of the word, maybe I'm wrong, but these concepts are used interchangeably, I can't understand the difference especially between "charter" and "statute".
