Subject: A challenge to translate
I have a challenge for all you translators out there:

"Сначала записывал пословицы, поговорки, прибаутки, которые нравились мне своей фокусной затейливостью: «Кишка кишке кукиш кажет». Я, разумеется, знал, что такое кукиш, но слог «ку» во втором с конца и буква «т» в последнем слове казались мне лишними и поговорку читал так: «Кишка кишке — кишка же. Затем начал сам сочинять поговорки."

See if you can come up with a way to make a translation of this work in English. I already have a variant, but I want to see what other people can up with.

Here's mine, BTW:

First I began to write down proverbs, sayings and nursery rhymes, to which I took to fancy due to their tricky complexity: ‘Which witch wished which wicked wish?’ Naturally, I knew what ‘wicked’ meant, but this second to last word with its discordant ‘ck’ and separately pronounced syllable ‘ed’ at the end seemed redundant to me and I read the tongue-twister thus: ‘Which witch wished which wish?’ Then I began to compose sayings by myself.’
