На картинке выглядит как шкаф обычный.
Я пока что перевел как "Блок контроля и управления судовым редуктором".
Посоветуйте еще, кто знает, где можно по этим штукам почитать чего-нибудь, пожалуйста.

Вообще-то обычный судовой редуктор не такая уж сложная штука, чтобы ею специально управлять, контролировать, да еще особый шкаф под это дело выделять. Хватает обычно пары-другой температурных датчиков, да на давление масла парочку. Ну можно еще частоту вращения выходного вала измерять для полного счастья и душевного спокойствия. Но для всего этого достаточно одной небольшой панельки на общем пульте. В посту управления МО и так немного места. Может у Вас какое-то другое "Gear " имеется в виду? Грузовое, например?
Подробностями не осчастливите ли? ;-)

The Gear Control and Monitoring Unit GCU/GMU 1 can be used for various gearboxes
and is an interface between the Propulsion Control System PCS-5, the MTU Remote Control
System RCS-5 (or the remote control system of another manufacturer) and the gearbox.
The principal tasks are:
For the gearbox:
- Connecting the gearbox sensors and watchdogs, activating the solenoid
valves on the gearbox
- Power supply to the gearbox sensors

For the plant:
- Supply voltage feed from the Local Operating Panel LOP 1
- Interfaces (CAN bus) for connection to the Propulsion Control System
PCS-5 and thus for connection to the MTU Remote Control System RCS-5
- Signal inputs and outputs (parallel) for connecting remote control systems
of other manufacturers
For the operator:
- In local control, the interface to the operator takes the form of appropriate
keys on the Local Operating Panel LOP 1
- Depending on the gearbox type, the Local Operating Panel includes buttons
for ahead, astern and neutral (reversing gear) or for engaged and disengaged
(step-down gear)
One Gear Control and Monitoring Unit GCU/GMU 1 is used for each engine
and therefore for each clutch.
The Gear Control and Monitoring Unit GCU/GMU 1 is located in the engine room close to
the gearbox which is assigned to it. It is connected to the other assemblies of the Propulsion
Control System PCS-5 (Local Operating Panel LOP 1) by means of a prefabricated
connection cable. Cable entries on the underside of the housing are used for the link-up to
the gearbox cabling.

О, ну это - другое дело! Типа универсальное оборудование для различных реверс-редукторных установок.
Тогда лучше перевести, как "Блок контроля и управления редукторной установкой", имея в виду не только собственно шестерни и зубчатые колеса, но и реверс-муфты, разобщительные муфты и т.д. На буксирах и т.п. морских объектах с требованием высокой маневренности такие системы чрезвычайно популярны. Полагаю, для направленного поиска Вам хватит слов "реверс-редуктор". Удачи!
