Subject: Проверка
Уважаемые форумчане! Подскажите пожалуйста в нижеприведенном контексте можно ли использовать глагол was во второй части предложения, если в первой ее части я использовал have been?

I have been a debate team leader at my secondary school and twice our team won the regional tournaments. I HAVE BEEN an active participant at Cairo University’s ALMUN debate club and WAS a chief speaker for my team at educational pleadings at University of Glasgow.

Thank you in advance!

What exactly are 'educational pleadings'?

I WAS the captain of the debating team at secondary school...

I was an an active participant at ..

I was the lead speaker for my team at ....

But all of these things should NOT be written as full sentences, Aborigenchik, unless they are somehow relevant for a cover letter. Dot points are far better in a CV

Achievements:
- Lead speaker at...
- Active participant at...
- Captain of debating team at...

NB: Is your high school life really important for a job application given that you are about to graduate from university? Surely not...

@Ozmikal:
Educational Pleadings are fake pleadings :)
We used to play this kind of game at one of the UK universities and at those pleadings we pretended to represent various countries at the International Court of Justice and these pleadings were conducted in the form of Judicial pleadings.

The thing is that I am filling in the online application form at Procter and Gamble's website, and they want me to provide for them my secondary school and university activities (dunno why).

My two cents:

I used to be a debate team leader at my secondary school and my team was twice chosen the best at the local contests at the time I was holding that position. Later on, as a student, I joined Cairo University’s ALMUN debate club where I was an active member and then went on as a lead speaker at the University of Glasgow Educational Pleadings Team.

consider some suggestions to the previous:

was twice chosen the best at the local contests --> won local competitions twice/[came up a winner on two occasions at the local contest]

at the time I was holding that position --> during my tenure (as a team leader)

I joined Cairo University’s ALMUN debate club where I was an active member and then went on as a lead speaker at the University of Glasgow Educational Pleadings Team --> I participated in the activities of THE Cairo University’s ALMUN debate club. I later on continued my involvement with debate club activities as a a lead speaker at the University of Glasgow Educational Pleadings Team.
