He is very good at reproductions. He can take off the famous singer perfectly.

Using "take off" in this case is a bit of a stretch, imho, unless you say, for example, "the composition takes off from the 70s hit"
I'd also have reservation against using "reproduction" in this context.

So it largely depends on what exactly you'd like to convey.
