| Носителя английского языка сам факт "носительства" ещё не делает преподавателем, как, скажем, факт "носительства" рук не делает хомо сапиенс скрипачом. |

99.9% - с таким "подходом" Ваш директор ни фига не выучит язык. И дело не в носителе/неносителе, а в именно что в отношении самого человека. Нужен был бы английский "на самом деле" - как миленький бы нашел и время, и все остальное потребное для нормальной, серьезной учебы. |

I gather this guy wants a "native buddy" to cart around with him wherever he goes. That's going to cost him a fortune. He is asking someone to give up their life to become a "thing" in his life. Most people arent going to do that. You may want to add to you ad that you need a lonely ex-pat with no life and relatives. :) And expect to pay this person at least USD 7000/month. |

И то, сможет ли 10-летний мальчик грамотно провести, скажем, переговоры? 2. Супочка прав. Носитель не значит учитель. Более того, даже наоборот, носитель может просто не понимать - чего непонятного и сложного в том, что он в одних случаях сказал что-то в Present Simple, а в других в Present Continuous. Нет, он язык знает. Правда делает много ошибок. Особенно в произношении. Он сам и по телефону с заграничными партнерами общается, и когда они приезжают. Но ему хочется постоянной практики. Чтобы "оживить" язык. Потому что когда приезжают иностранцы на несколько дней (бывает это не очень часто), то он начинает живее болтать. Потому как практика с ними постоянная... Но согласитесь: условия-то хорошие. И жилье, и зарплата... Эта работа для энергичных людей и с перспективой. Не обязательно только репетиторство. Если человек смышленный, то он в нашей компании всегда в рост идет. У нас никто не обижен... И еще: Susan права. Это только для тех, кто только что приехал в Россию и не имеет ни семьи, ни знакомых. Тогда это идеальный вариант. Еще вопрос почему они в Россию сбежали. От семьи-друзей? Или у них там и так никого не было. И еще: это сложный случай. С пустяками (типа просто найти репетитора) я б сюда не полезла. Будем искать потихонечку... Может быть и найдем кого... |

My comment was based on the fact that I am constantly asked by RUSSIANS why I would want to live here because they want to get out. I think they are strange for asking that. One time I got asked "За что жизнь тебя так не любит что привела сюда?" I thought that was terrible. Also, another time, not too long ago, a Russian bi*ch started an argument with me about how there is no reason to live in Russia and that I shouldnt have moved here and must be crazy. |

SupaT In no way was I judging all Russians; for goodness sakes, my husband said to me once "sorry hon, but not even for you would I move to the US", which made me boundlessly happy. :) I suppose I was assuming that the author is one of the ones who think we foreigners are nuts for loving this mad but enthralling country. |

_MarS_ Apparently I have been the victim of the angst-ridden, propagandized, myth of the good old West believing who have no idea how life really works or what the West is about and what it produces and what it is lacking. In general, I assume that these people have extremely limited contact with foreigners; if they were "well-exposed" they wouldn't believe the myths anymore. |

The point is that I think it is strange that Russians want to get out and move to the "golden" West, which doesnt exist. The point is that I love this blasted country and can't imagine why YOU would want to leave. |

you know what's funny, I love this country so much that I am offended by Russians who's goal is to leave, who bash Russia, who complain constantly about it and who tell me I am crazy for moving here. It's as offensive to me as an American saying "Russia? Why?" |

to Susan79 It's OK that you and your husband prefer Russia to the US. However, I presume (I may be wrong) that you have never traveled outside Moscow. If you ever have that opportunity, do so. You will learn that the farther you are from Moscow, the nicer people you meet (I have no intention to insult Moscow residents, God forefend!). Moscow is unlike the rest of Russia just as NY is unlike the rest of the US. It's an established fact. Good luck! |

I am not going to list the NUMEROUS, and primarily impoverished, places I have traveled to in this country, I will only say that you picked the wrong foreigner to make assumptions about. No worries bvs, I KNOW that Moscow is not Russia and I Love RUSSIA proper, not the Moscovite Russia (though Moscow has its pluses - no roosters:)) p.s. my husband was born in one of the abovementioned impoverished places. |

Your best bet would be to find your boss some English speaking drinking buddies. I remember one guy who used to always come out drinking with me and my friends and pay for everything just cause he wanted to learn English. And he ended up learning it pretty well. Or if he doesn't like to drink, just some people to socialize with who share common interests. I know in Moscow there were a bunch of English social clubs that people ran, there's probably something similar in St. Petersburg. And if he pays well, you won't have a problem finding a native speaking teacher, even without a regular schedule of lessons. But the idea of hiring someone to just hang around and speak English sounds pretty dumb to me. |
