The fiber optic based Rapid Content Analyzer module analyzes the lyophilized product through the bottom of the standard packaging vial. Its NIR reflectance spectrum is recorded from 1100 to 2500 nm. The first derivative spectrum (segment = 10, gap = 0) is calculated to reduce baseline drift and spectral offsets and was used for building the calibration model. The spectral ranges of 1300 – 1500 nm and 1800 – 2000 nm correspond to that of water. The spectral responses over this region are compared with the reference spectrum used to develop the calibration model.

А как назвать segment и gap, совсем не знаю, в БИК анализаторах не разбираюсь.
Может быть, N_N сюда заглянет, подскажет.

Нашла объяснение, правда, тут вторая производная:

The gaps are the distances among the three wavelengths used for producing the second derivative, while segment is the wavelength region in which the measured spectral data are averaged.
