Контекст:
Skeletal muscle and visceral organs are responsible for most nonbone phosphorus accretion, which ranges from 15% to 30% of total accretion.

смущает "accretion"... очень просится значение "потребление", которого, вроде, нет в значениях этого слова... как правильно, подскажите, пожалуйста!...

совсем запуталась... или может это не имеет смысла...?
в этой же статье стали предательски чередоваться термины "Accretion" и "retention".. например:
Correlation analysis in our study demonstrated significant positive correlations between daily phosphorus intake and both overall phosphorus retention and calculated soft tissue phosphorus retention (r = 0.81 and 0.74, respectively; P for each < 0.001). This suggests that within our range of data, biological retention was in a relatively linear area of response. The correlation analysis of Ca:P of the absorbed minerals demonstrated a nonsignificant negative correlation with overall phosphorus retained (r = -0.14) but a highly significant correlation with soft tissue phosphorus retention (r = -0.78, P = 0.001). That is, when Ca:P was lower, more phosphorus was theoretically available for soft tissue phosphorus accretion...

здесь retention можно обозвать содержанием, а accretion - усвоением тканями/распределением в ткани, но нужно разобраться, сохраняется ли этот смысл по всей статье
