while grammatically correct, i have to warn you about using 'key accounts manager' on a business card. this automatically suggests that other, non-key clients are less important. clients or potential clients (people who receive the business card) should not be made to feel like they are getting lesser service because they are not nestle or coca-cola. which is why in western ad agencies i have never seen such wording - key accounts mgr. i have, however, seen 'senior account manager', which also suggests that this person, senior person, handles clients who are more important. anyway, it's only a suggestion.

using 'key accounts manager' on a business card... is the best wording for the situation. coz in everyday life we use 'key accounts" when do mean the most important accounts (clients). from the marketing point of view, kath, you damn right. i never thought of it though worked not only as a translator/interpreter. and for me the 'key accounts' always ment what they were. but thank you, any way.

Позвольте, коллеги, с вами не согласиться. :-) Если я являюсь специалистом по работе с ключевыми клиентами, и у меня на визитке написано "key account manager" (или что-то аналогичное), то, давая визитку с этой надписью клиенту (potential or existing), я подчеркиваю то, что зачисляю этого клиента в разряд key accounts. Это мое ИМХО. :-)

2Irisha - thing is, at ad meetings you often have more than one person representing each side. if i were the client and two people handed me their cards, i would prefer to deal with 'key accts mgr' assuming that he/she is more senior (ie, knowledgeable). and if i were then assigned a 'lesser' person, i may consider taking my business elsewhere. this is precisely why ad agencies are built hierarchically (sp?). western ones, at least.

Ну, может быть, может быть... Но... насколько я могу судить из названия должности "специалист по работе с ключевыми клиентами" - это рядовой сотрудник отдела по работе с ключевыми клиентами, и именно он и является direct contact для клиента, и никто "lesser" с клиентом работать не будет. Но это все зависит от распределения функций в конкретной организации. Спасибо. :-)
