short time increments & hard line

Уважаемые форумчане, очень нужна ваша помощь!
Документ - инструкция по монтажу nitrogen compression equipment.
Я не могу понять, что в ниже приведенном предложении значит "short time increments"
A 2” – 5000 psi gate valve will be located downstream of the measurement system and bypass line. This will be used to isolate the compression equipment for short time increments (ie. connections).
... для отсечения компрессионного оборудования на короткое время (к примеру, для выполнения соединений)?

И еще hard line:

There will be short sections of 2” – 2000-PSI hose to connect the hard line to the low-pressure boosters head inlet.
И еще предложение:
These valves are to divert flow from the primary boost to the second booster as backup; or if necessary, allowing the first booster working in single stage and the second booster in double stage. The last option also requires a connection between the two 2000-PSI boosters; this will be completed using a hard line 2” 2000 PSI with accessories Figure 200 connections.

Насчет hard line догадок нет, разве только что значение из Мультитрана - проводной канал. Но, мне кажется, здесь hard line больше просто походит на шланг (или трубу).

hard line 2” 2000 PSI - трубная разводка двухдюймовой трубой (в отличие от гибкой линии со шлангом)
