Привет всем! Не могли бы вы помочь с переводом следующих фраз, так, чтобы они звучали "по-русски" :))) :

No one comes to the subject without a background and baggage. The baggage for many consists of assumption that, given its long history, somewhere within or about the subject there is real knowledge about the Orient.

и еще:

It (Orientalism) is entirely distinct and unattached to the East as understood within and by the East.
