Pipework shall be supported by any of the following methods as appropriate for the pipe, the load, the location and the building or pipe bridge features:
- Pipe clips and hanger rods
- Pipe clips and spring hangers
- Slider supports
- Roller supports
- U bolts
- Overstraps

All pipe support components in direct contact with the pipe shall be of materials compatible with the pipe material. Where clips, sliders, rollers, U bolts or oversteps are not available in, or cannot be made of materials compatible with the pipe, an intermediate material compatible with both the pipe and the support clip, slider, roller, U bolt or overstraps shall be installed to separate the incompatible materials. Movement of pipework relative to the support component shall not cause damage to the pipework or coatings.
